Antistatic threads are recommended for conducive footwear and antistatic footwear .
Teacher antistatic threads are used to minimize electrostatic build up by dissipating electric charge thus avoiding the risk of spark ignition.
Teacher antistatic threads have an electrical resistance between 100 Kilo-Ohm to 1000 Mega-Ohm as per BS EN ISO 20345:2004 standard specifications.
The insole should also have same electrical resistance or lower than that of thread so that the full shoes pass for the test method BS EN ISO 20344:2004.
Antistatic footwear should be tested again if there is a damage to the insole with thread, since the worn out insole can give higher resistance .
